Ring-billed gull

A portrait of a ring-billed gull (Larus delawarensis) in Windsor, Ontario. The popular name of this medium-sized gull comes from the black ring around its bill. This species is found near lakes, rivers, or the coast in Canada and the northern United States. It nests colonially on the ground, often on islands.
